In 1992, I began creating an Organic Chemistry Textbook by Robert Neuman. It has been a long journey full of unexpected twists and turns. I was hoping to see the book on the college shelves one day, but a few years ago I realized it was unlikely.
As a result, I decided to publish the Organic Chemistry Textbook by Robert Neuman on the Internet. I wanted it to be available to students and teachers for the study and teaching of organic chemistry. I have now published 21 of the 23 chapters. I am currently working on Chapter 19 and plan to start Chapter 6. The images have been merged with the text of each published chapter. With the exception of those in chapter 20, all of them are currently drawn by hand.

You can access the Organic Chemistry Textbook by Robert Neuman directly from the links on this page. They also take you to my biographical information. A miniature version of my CV is “In 1998 I retired from a 35-year position in the chemistry department at UC Riverside and moved to Santa Barbara, where I taught part-time.”
My biggest fan and supporter in all of my efforts to become an author has been and continues to be my wife Pat! Without his encouragement, I would be long gone!
