Being a student in Pakistan might be difficult at times. Most youngsters who cannot afford an education are concerned about how they will be able to obtain financial assistance in the form of scholarships, grants, and loans. There are various scholarships in Pakistan for national and international students.

Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Program

The Rs24 billion programs give scholarships to students enrolled in an undergraduate program at any public university across the country on the idea of merit. Students coming from lower-income backgrounds with a monthly income of Rs45,000 are going to be eligible for it.

This year, the govt has allocated Rs6 billion for scholarships in Pakistan. Half these are allocated for ladies students. Last year the govt gave 50,752 scholarships. This year the target is 67,000.

Waseela-e-Talim Program

Targeting grade school students, this scholarship is given to students studying in classes nursery to grade five across the year. Children of families registered within the Ehsaas Program are going to be eligible for the program. Here are the allowances given:

Rs2,000 (paid quarterly) for women
Rs1,500 (paid quarterly) for boys

The initiative, which was previously only available in 50 districts, has now been expanded to 154 districts across the country. The government has allocated Rs8 billion to the project this year.

Arts and Culture Scholarship Programme

The National Endowment for Scholarship launched the scholarship programme in 2020. Undergraduate students participating in four- and five-year programmes will be eligible for the scholarships, which will be awarded on the basis of merit.

Last year, the govt opened 400 slots for scholarshipsThe initiative has been allocated a budget of Rs77 million (per year). Its goal is to help students at the graduate level in the areas of Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Multimedia Arts, Musicology, Film and Television, Product Design, Ceramics Design, Communication Design, Textile Design, and Interior Design, as well as Cultural Studies.

Nursing Scholarship 2020

Last year, the National Endowment Scholarships for Talent under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training announced 1,000 scholarships in several degree level programs.

Under the scholarship, 20% of the entire nurses enrolled during a four-year bachelor’s programme are going to be given financial assistance.

The breakdown of scholarships given last year was:

The slots for these scholarships are increased by 10% per annum . the govt has allotted Rs1.2 billion for the programme. Students from these universities can apply.

HEC Post-Doctoral Fellowship Scholarships in Pakistan

Under the programme, 1,000 scholarships are given to PhD holders recognised by the upper Education Commission over a span of 5 years.

On a national level, the fellowships are awarded based on merit. Seventy percent of seats at public universities are earmarked for professors and academics, while fifteen percent are designated for private universities. The rest will be used by research and development groups.

On the basis of the following factors, you may be eligible to apply for the fellowship:

  • Five years of experience with a PhD
  • Must not be quite 45 years aged
  • Teaching at any HEC recognised university
  • Should not have availed any such fellowship before

Rehmatul-Lil Alameen Scholarships in Pakistan

Prime Minister Imran Khan officially launched the scholarship programme. The government will award scholarships to low-income undergraduate students. It would be available to students from families with an annual income of less than Rs25,000. The scholarships will be given out on a merit-based basis.

The programme has been given a budget of Rs27.93 billion, which will be spread out over the next five years. Scholarships are available to students from 129 public universities around the country.

In Punjab, Rs1 billion are approved once a year for the programme. The allow Khyber Pakhtunkwa has been set at Rs427 million per annum . The provinces have already started giving out scholarships.

Provision of upper Education Opportunities for the scholars of Balochistan and FATA Phase-II

The grant are going to be awarded within the school year 2021-22 altogether subjects and disciplines. it’ll cover the schooling fees, living allowance, book allowance, travelling allowance, and initial settlement allowance. This amounts to approximately Rs90,000.

The scholarship are going to be given on merit. Candidates will need to sit for a flair test conducted by the HEC and score a minimum of 50%.

PM Imran Khan’s Kamyab Jawan programme

Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced 170,000 skill-based scholarships for children .

We want more people to advocate for skills-based education, thus 170,000 scholarships will be awarded, he stated. 50,000 of the scholarships will be for advanced skills such as coding and artificial intelligence. “You can take six-month courses and then acquire employment you never thought were possible.”
